JOSEPH BOHLER
Traditional painter of figures and landscapes in watercolor, pastel, and oil. Born near Augusta, Montana, in 1940 and living in Monument, Colorado, since 1977. "You go to the mountain, become the mountain. and then you paint the mountain," he states. "I always try to go where I paint, and sketch and get a feel for the things I paint. I like to do trees a lot. You see lots of them in my landscapes. I make a lot of notes. It is my shorthand. You make your decisions with your little sketches."
Bohler is a founding member of the Northwest Rendezvous Group and member of the American Watercolor Society. Written up in ArtWest, Artists of the Rockies, and Southwest Art.
