"The setting for this painting
was a rendezvous in Montana. The young woman, seated in front of
her tipi, makes wonderful beaded artifactual pieces done in the
authentic tradition of the Plains Indian. "The lovely color, the
woman's graceful pose, the gesture of grooming her hair in the soft
sunlight--together they portray an ideal of womanhood. I have tried
to convey a sense of femininity I feel is universal."

A Montana portraitist, Zemsky is a member of the Northwest Rendezvous
Group and the Pastel Society of America. She has created a series
