in 1940 and living in Eldorado Springs, Missouri. "I'm really more
of an impressionist now than a realist," he explains. "What interests
me is the impression the animal makes on me rather than the reality,
the reproduction of details, or the way other people might see him.
I find I can achieve extraordinary results with my color effects."
